Welcome to Main Street.
In a vibrant, small town in Ontario, this kitchen is an inviting space that captures both fun and warmth. Designed with our signature Bloomsbury framed cabinetry and inset doors, the kitchen blends classic English charm with a touch of farmhouse appeal. The perimeter cabinetry is hand-painted in the rich gray-green hue of Farrow & Ball’s 'Card Room Green', while the island boasts a longstanding custom favourite called 'Bloomsbury Taupe'.
To create a natural, layered look, a combination of our flat-slab 'Lincoln' door style on all the drawers and the timeless shaker-style 'Essex' door style on all the doors of the kitchen. To enhance the look of freestanding furniture, the cabinetry face frames are designed to extend fully to the floor. The island features 3-inch thick leg posts, giving it a chic, table-like appearance while providing essential stability as the space is open below. Topping off the English farmhouse vibe are exquisite Burnished Brass hardware by Armac Martin and a stunning farmhouse-style sink by Shaws.
On the fridge wall, custom cabinetry was built around the stainless-steel fridge to enhance functionality. A short flip-up door was added above the fridge for storing cookware and making use of the room’s vertical space. To the right of the fridge is a tall storage cabinet, complete with a chef’s pantry attached to the interior of the door. These interior pantry organizers are perfect for organizing spices, jars, and small items that often get lost in the more crowded spaces. Inside the pantry, a built-in microwave is cleverly tucked away to keep it out of sight while remaining easily accessible. Just below the microwave, open shelving provides space for quick-access items, while hidden drawers offer dark storage for a streamlined look.
In the open shelving, we added an extra layer of charm with beadboard backing, creating a subtle yet striking backdrop for dishes and decorative items. On the perimeter, the beadboard backing is painted to match the rich, Card Room Green cabinetry. This open shelving serves as an appliance garage for the homeowners Smeg toaster, and coffee maker. The open shelving design is also built into the island, maintaining continuity throughout the kitchen while adding functionality and display space.
