French Bistro Kitchen
This kitchen is inspired by the client’s love of French bistros and vintage furniture. The kitchen perimeter and island are hand-painted in an elevated powder blue-grey and to tie the stove and pantry together, the pantry is painted black with heavy brush strokes and wear back to create the look of a vintage furniture piece. Some of the unique features in this kitchen are the pretty very petite corbel details shown under the crown molding around the kitchen, a very English detail and the little apothecary drawers on either side of the LaCornue stove are so adorable. The bead-board on the back and sides of the island give an unpretentious relaxed air to this grand room. The antique-inspired mirrored doors on the pantry were commissioned by the client to give the old world charm and her gold accents were the icing on the cake; the black and gold LaCornue stove, gold hardware, faucets and lighting all work together to give the space that inviting rich vibe that makes you feel like you’ve traveled to Paris and stepped inside of a chic French bistro.
The master en-suite vanity is inspired by an existing vintage cabinet in the clients home. Taking the clients inspiration we created custom doors with a raised center panel and a beaded detail. The bathroom vanity is hand painted in a heritage grey-green colour and has antique brass hardware to add a touch of elegance that flows into the master bedroom and custom walk-in closet.
The mudroom has a warm casual feel with a long wall of custom cabinetry for maximum storage, painted in a rich red. This room is right on trend with an interesting tile pattern on the floor accented with pops of red to tie it all together. Inside the cabinets are storage for coats, boots and even a spot to hang your keys!
